Photo a Day Challenge - Something you wore

Something I wore??  Goodness I should get rid of these - almost completely worn out!!!  They have done me good over the past six years.  They are far too wide now since I lost weight in my feet, but they have served me well, for gardening, painting....yes the multi colours are our fence, our living room walls and probably a touch of gloss paint too. 

The most hilarious moment was when I had to visit a client a year or so ago.  Because I am older I don't wear "heels" with skirts, I wear trousers with flat shoes........and since these are well past their best to go out in, I have another pair.  (I am not a shoes person - one pair for best and one pair for home for each season).  Well anyway, I was running late, jumped into the car went on my way and arrived at destination to be met by four young men in their 20s. 

Haaa....the grins, the silent laughter.....I could not make out why?  "Ok ok whats the joke?" I said "I know I am older than you expected, but that should not matter".........one spokesman looked my way and said with this big grin on his face "Look at your shoes"!!!   Daaaahhhhhhhh........my gardening shoes!!!!! 

Oh the embarrassment......even at my age.
