Photo a Day Challenge - Car

I decided on an old one that we said goodbye to about three years ago.  Victor became a car donor!  It was an old Vauxhall Victor of the 1970s.  We bought this car second hand in the late 1970s - it wasn't all that old, but needed a lot of work done to it before it could be driven.  We both loved to work on cars and so it did not take us long to get it back on the road.

After we moved house in the early 1980s, and we had been driving the car for couple years, something went dreadfully wrong with it.  If I remember the head gasket blew, so we parked it up and left it, hoping that we could work on it again in the coming months.  But children were at the age they wanted our attention and the house needed work so sadly the old car was never touched again.

And it sat there for 27 years collecting mould and wearing out with the weather.  I had had enough and decided it should go, go to someone that would appreciate it.  It was well and truly weather beaten (even though it had been covered and sufficient air circulation).

Sadly the day came, when someone who was restoring another similar car bought our old girl.  He had great difficulty "dragging" it onto a trailer (the tyres had perished) and at one stage I wondered if the chassis was going to give way too.   After a bit of problem, she was all chained up ready to move off.
