Now this one was a toughy....I thought about it for a long long time. My life at the moment is very quiet, and on the new housing estate, the builders seem to have stopped their noise. I hadn't had the time to find "noise", nor can I use "loud" in the sense of vibrant colours as I did that yesterday. So...today I have chosen a book title.....a book still waiting on my to be read pile.
"For Crying out Loud - The World According to Clarkson Volume 3". This was recommended to me, and I have only found Volume 3 so far, so I have to wait til I have found and read Volume I and 2 before I get started on this one. Give me two or three years and I will let you know if it was good or not.
The write up is: The publication of The World According to Clarkson in 2004 launched a multi million copy bestselling phenomenon. But to no avail.
Jeremy's one-man war on crimes against common sense has not yet been won. And our hero's still scratching his head at the madness of it all. But it's not all bad. He's learned a little along the way, including:
* Why binge drinking is good for you....*The worst word in the English language....*The remarkable secret of eternal youth.....*The pleasure and pain of middle-aged drumming.....*The problem with America....*And how to dispose of a seal.
For anyone who's been driven to wonder just what is the matter with people these days. For Crying out Loud is the perfect riposte. Surprising, fearless and always laugh-out-loud funny. Clarkson's back. And he's got a point.
Mmmmm I can only think of one thing that I have in common with Jeremy and that is the love of cars, not so much the flash cars, but old cars. I co-owned an old Chevvy truck in the 1960s, and I married someone who also liked old cars. We spent a lot of our courting days trapsing around all the car events up and down the country. I don't think I have been to one for over 30 years now. That is ashame......they were great times.
Mmmm... this is a seriously good photo for LOUD LOL We have his first book, bought it in the UK for David in 2005, David of course loved it! Mmmmm...
