Busy in garden this week......

For several years I could not do much physically due to an illness, so sadly the garden became a "wild" garden. My husband kept the lawns mowed and we grew some vegetables each year, but that was about it.  This year I feel I can now  make my contribution.

I decided to replant the strawberries I was given last year into three pots - they are actually looking good, just need the warm weather to promote growth.

Last year we had an abundance of beans, but we were could not pick them every day, and so were too big to cook or freeze, so I removed the seeds and dried them ready for the next year - which is now.  I can't believe how quick they have grown and still we haven't put up the canes for the new plants.

We had several trees removed 18 months ago and still a lot to clear before we can grow anything in this side of the garden.  That is the old apple tree to the left - lovely apples for pies

I am in the process of clearing this portion to add some colour. The stumps are still in ground, only because it would have been a lot more expensive to have them removed at the same time as the trees. The trees had grown over 30 feet high.

This is my attempt at clearing the weeds, etc. I am thinking of adding "pots" for plants. Not ordinary pots, these are going to be very unusual containers. More of that later... my husband thinks I have gone completely mad.

I will post more of my garden antics as I progress.
