Just an ordinary key from my bunch of keys, and ordinary key for an ordinary old girl. Not being very original today.
Mmmm what would we do without them. Years ago we never locked our doors, nor our car and never had to padlock and chain on the bike.
I remember cycling up the main street in 1967/68 and parking my bike up against the kerb about a mile from the office, wandered around the town, came back to the office and realised I left my bike some place else. Never crossed my mind that someone would take it, it just did not happen in those days. No chain, no padlock, no key. After work I walked back up the road, and there was my bike just as I left it!
Keys - yes another memory. I worked in a small Department - the youngest and the one that was teased the most. I was about 17 years old. and in charge of the stationery cupboard. This room had one of those heavy safe doors without the dials, about 16 cm door with a long key. One of the bosses called me into the cupboard to find a stationery item for him and he slipped out and turned the key....and he turned out the light. No window, no light, heavy flat door from the inside - absolutely scary....absolutely terrified.....and I was left there for over 20 mins. Never ever forget that!
