We had rain in the night but not much. Woke to a plate of pancakes made by my friends husband, dripping with honey and cream - just heaven. They were delicious.
We decided to have a lazy day, just popping to the shops for food and a light lunch. A storm had been brewing in the early afternoon and eventually there was lightening both zig zag and sheet, thunder (all so close) and hailstones the size of marbles. It was very warm still.
Thank goodness we were inside - there is no way I would be out in this
The rain was heavy and the winds blew......and soon after it was all over and the sun came out. It was still very muggy though. We didn't go out today - my friend and her husband had fallen asleep in the afternoon - it must of been exhausting having me around.....
Monday 11th November
My brother called at 6.30 a.m. to drive me to a distant cousin's home. I had not seen this cousin for around 50 years!!! I say distant as her Grandmother and my Grandmother's mother were sisters. I guess that makes you a cousin, well for the next couple days that suited us fine. It gets you buy trying to explain to people when we fit in in a family tree.
Today we went for a drive to Burleigh Heads. From here we had great views of the Q1 (a large highrise building) and Surfers Paradise.
Looking back the other way
Burleigh Heads is run down in places. It also suffered damaged to a terrible cyclone type weather a few months ago. Signs are the windows are boarded up.

An area where you can walk or relax in the sunshine.
