Art Workshop - Water colour

Well I woke just after the crack of dawn, thinking of all the things I wanted to do today, and what needed to be done before I went to the Art Workshop.

It was just too early to start, so I read for one and half hours and then got out the knitting.  The last time I picked up this was the end of last month at the Craft evening.  Knitting before breakfast - is a little odd I know.

So all ready - art materials in the car and off we go.  Only a five minute drive and we are there.  Very hot day today, but surprisingly cool in the room all day.  Today's lesson is boats and reflections.

I always wanted to learn - I am a beginner - I have no skill and no natural gift - and it is frustrating - so frustrating that my first attempt (not the picture above - that was the afternoon exercise), was so bad - I re-started with a new sheet - and even then the completed work was rubbish.

The afternoon session was easier, the subject was better for a start, but still the finished work was nothing like the other students.  We had a really good teacher - an artist - who is very patient and did say to me "that is much better", but it isn't good enough for me.  I still need to find a style I am comfortable with.  Practice makes perfect - that I got to see - in time.

We finished at 4 p.m. and on the way out, this was tempting - but I didn't give in.....books for a donation in the box - nah I still got over 600 to read at home..

The heat hit us on the way out - 34 degrees C in the car was just too much.  So glad to be home - I am totally exhausted.
