Crossing the Line.........

The sorting of everything imaginable continues, and something else I came across.  "King Neptune Order of Equatorial Air Voyagers". 

Know all Men by these Presents that............

Having this Day gallantly crossed our Equator in a Qantas 707 V. Jet, becomes a Freeman of the Air and all Rights, Benefits and Perguisites reserved for those who cross between the Hemispheres in Airliners are hereby bestowed All ye Powers and Dominions subject ot his most Paissant Magesty, Neptune, take note.

Date.........it hasn't been filled in but this was presented to me (no ceremony though) for my flight from Australia in September 1968. 

Chief Pilot - Line Operations .......can't read the signature. 

Neptune Omnium Rex (Carlorum) - A gold seal "Qantas - By Appointment to King Neptune".
Qantas Australia's Round-the-World Airline. 


I have been back four times since, and not once did I receive something like this.
