My Memorabilia - 3

These cute little things.  I have always called them "Surfies", perhaps thats what they were called when bought in the 1960s from a Woolworths store in Australia.  I love them.

They have never been put on display for fear of them getting broken, so wrapped carefully in tissue and stuck in a drawer.  I really don't know where to display them.

Maybe since I am having a new bathroom put in that I could include these little fellas in the decor.  They are about 5" tall, ceramic and bright coloured painted.  Still look as good as new.

  1. What a shame you don't have them out on display... I recently put a tea caddy into service, bought it 20 years ago and is ceramic, with a lovely elephant on the lid as the handle. And why didn't I use it before? Too beautiful. Now that is silly, and even if I now break it, I have the joy of seeing and using it on a daily basis. Do get them out for your new bathroom. If you love them, no point in wrapping them up. Why not get a framer to make you a "Box" frame, and put them safely behind glass, so that you can see them every day?

  2. What a good idea with the "box" frame - I have got one of those in the shed - without the glass. Very old it is waiting for a makeover. Thank you.
