Project No. 2 - Commode Chair

When my Nan died over 20 years ago, everything in her rented flat had to be cleared out in a day by my Aunts.  This chair ended up near the dustbins, I took it!

I had nowhere to really put it, so it just sat in the corner of a bedroom all these years, never used, and still had the same cushion as when I got it.

.

I intend to repaint the pot and replace the cushion top with new foam, fabric and braid. This chair will be perfect for reading in the early hours of the morning as the sun comes up
I do not intend to use it as a commode!! Hope not anyway.  But will leave it in there as it is what it is.

A couple weeks ago I got some help in removing the old cover.  Between the cover and wooden seat the foam had turned to dust and it blew all over the garden.  Thank goodness we removed it in the open!

I am stuck with this at the moment as there are loads and loads of furniture tacks and nails all around the edge, which ideally should be removed in order for the new cover to go on nicely.  This is proving to be a long job as they are stuck well in.

This is something else I have never done before and although I am looking forward to progressing I will need to think hard on the next stage........more later
