Photo a Day Challenge - 5th May - BIRD

I am never prepared for the next day's photo challenge.  I awoke this morning and saw a huge black and white bird on the lawn - but did I have the camera ready? ....No!  And since most birds are active in the morning - I haven't seen one close enough since.

So.....I went through a big box of photographs - ones that I "inherited", and I found this one of my Nan (mum's mum) taken at Burrinjuck (I presume Burrinjuck Waters State Park in Australia) in 1986.  Here she is with a few parakeets.  Nan would have been in her 80s - she is the one on the left in the maroon anorak.  Always laughed or smiled.......Nan visited Australia many times since my parents immigrated to Australia in the 1950s, this may even been her last visit.
